SO HERE we go again, politicians in Cardiff already preparing the good people of Cardiff for a probable eye-watering increase in council tax, which is way above inflation.

I find this to be a real kick in the teeth for the people of Cardiff, especially when this very same council cut £4 million in payments owed not to the council but to the people of Cardiff from Glamorgan County Cricket Club. How many councillors have been culled.?

I have no doubt that the Vale Council are considering to increase our tax as well, although no figures have been released just yet, but going on past performance it is highly likely.

The Vale council have a brilliant record on increasing council tax, over the past few years the rises we have had are around 18 per cent, it wouldn’t be so bad if we had something to pay for but the council invest nothing in our town except a couple of bob on the island.

The Vale are experts on cuts though we pay for our own refuse bags, waste food bags, we have volunteers running our libraries, cuts in education including teachers, we even have our roadside lights turned off at midnight except in the council leaders street.

The council totally ignore a petition from the parents of children in Cadoxton Nursery School, we now have parking enforcement officers being run from Bridgend Council. We have no cinema or leisure facilities, the council are too tight to spend money on the people, it really is time for a major change within the Vale council.

Barry councillors should determine policy in Barry not councillors from Llantwit Major, Rhoose or Penarth. Very soon elections will be held in the Vale and I think it’s time to change and kick this lot out of office.
