I SEE once again the Vale Council has been praised by the Welsh Audit Office, the report states the authority has a clear vision of what it wants to achieve.
Can I suggest the auditor general talks to the people of Barry and the Vale before he takes the time to praise this Vale council?
He would, I am certain, see a different point of view on the streets of what the people think of the Vale council.
The people are sick and tired of the cuts this council is making. Is he aware we have to pay for our own recycling bags? Is he aware we have our street lights turned off at midnight going against everything health and safety? Is he aware of the cuts to our libraries which now use volunteers? Is he aware that the council are cutting jobs in education which includes teachers? Is he aware the council do not invest much in the town? We have no cinema, no outdoor lido, no leisure facilities for the people to enjoy.
We have an elected council which was elected by the people for the people, the council have a duty to protect and serve the people.
I think the auditor would find if he asked the people they would say the council has failed on all counts.
