A SEAGULL guards the impotent estuary
For it's low-tide on Barry Harbour.
There are footprints in the sand today
As we are blessed with glorious August sunshine
The Channel an enticing light blue
And I stroll upon the golden shore
As on so many occasions before
Yet I’m never bored with the view
Adoring it here in all seasons
For each has a beauty of its own.
Children paddle with excited cries
The curved harbour wall observes my steps
As I advance to the edge of the sea
A feeling of freedom engulfing me.
