IN REPLY to Mike Dunn’s letter in the Barry & District News regarding litter louts.
I agree, I did not make a point of condemning them in my letter entitled dogs mess. Obviously they do blight our landscape with rubbish as do some dog owners, but the valid point I’d like to make however is the danger faeces can cause as it commonly carries a parasite called toxacara, which if ingested can cause blindness in humans, particularly children.
Also the council employ operatives to litter pick regularly, especially on the Island through the summer and I wouldn’t mind a wager too – on which they would prefer to pick up.
