WITH reference to your article Council member broke the rules, it was over a year ago now that the local government Ombudsman received complaints that Councillor Robert Curtis had broke the rules by having a conviction of his own admission of common assault of a female.

Now, after over a year, the Ombudsman has passed it over to the Adjudication Panel for Wales. My question is why has it taken him over a year to look at this case and decide he cannot adjudicate or rule on this matter. He is still receiving a councillors salary of approximately £13,500 per annum and is still serving as a councillor for the Gibbonsdown ward. I think we have a right to know how this is possible and why he still remains a Labour councillor when, really, he should have done the honourable thing and resigned and when he chose not to take this route, then he should have been made to resign his post by the Labour Party for bringing the party into disrepute.
