ON TUESDAY, June 28, some friends and I went to Barry Island via the train.

One of us was confined to a wheelchair but this was no handicap. The services received was second to none when it came to loading and unloading the wheelchair on and off the train.

The young attendants on the train were so well organised (eight of them for the total journey) that there was no waiting to disembark or embark at Barry Island, Cardiff or Newport.

The communications between them was marvellous, the whole journey was achieved with the minimum of fuss and delay and was most impressive. They all worked for Arriva.

I would advise anyone who needs to use a wheelchair on the train to go ahead, help is available all the way.
