I DO NOT personally agree with everything said by the politicians and pro EU pundits or experts.

Likewise I do not agree with everything that is said by the Brexit campaigners but on balance I feel being in the EU is costly unnecessary and sometimes defying logic.

Take for example some of the ridiculously silly rules and laws passed by Brussels' unelected European parliamentarians.

The British Food Standards Agency were forced by Brussels to make the following ridiculous ruling on the retail industry. If you go to any shop or supermarket to buy peanuts, walnuts, Brazil nuts or any other nuts they are not allowed to be sold unless the packaging includes the following statement “warning may contain nuts”, basically I would say that in itself is completely nuts.

Yet when there is a large jar of peanuts on the retailers' shelves they use a scoop to place the nuts on the scales and are then placed in plain paper bags with no such warning attached at all. Do they think people are that stupid not to know what they are buying? I know a few people who can’t read or write anyway so what is the point?

Here is the best yet: A leading European-owned British supermarket has just been forced to remove and condemn a whole consignment of canned herrings which, under these silly Brussels rules, must be destroyed costing the supermarket giant many hundreds of thousands of pounds in lost revenue leading no doubt to an increase in prices products across their other ranges to compensate their losses.

The reason for the removal and destruction of these cans of herring is as absurd as the nuts ruling which all sounds a bit fishy to me. The offending cans were ordered off display and subsequent sale because, wait for this, the cans did not display in English the following crazy statement “warning may contain fish”.

So the pro-European guys want us to vote for this kind of lunacy. I will definitely be voting out and I rest my case.
