I WOULD like to say a big thank you to the volunteers involved in the Gilbert Street, Barry clean-up.

The area is now looking much better thanks to the spring clean and it’s all down to The Pulse Team, Keep Wales Tidy and the local PCSO Rhiannon Cummings.

Piles of fly tipping had built up in the Gilbert Street Lane and it had become a real eyesore.

In all the team collected nearly nine bags of waste along with other household goods.

This is in addition to 40 bags previously collected.

The team have made a real difference to the local area and I would like to thank them all for their help in this matter.

If there is any further suspicious activity in this area residents are asked to report it by calling 101.
