MAY I be allowed to congratulate the Vale Council on once again showing complete incompetence, not only to the people of Barry but to all those visitors to Barry Island during the recent spring sunshine.

Reading some comments on social media the council came in for some well deserved critical comments. So what has upset these people, well when you have traffic queues stretching from Ship Hill up to Park Crescent, and all along Broad Street stretching to the roundabout travelling to the Island, but is held up by construction work and traffic lights is it any wonder people are venting their anger?

The same was said on leaving the Island where some day trippers were gridlocked in car parks for over an hour.

The council have got to shoulder the responsibility for this shambles and heads must roll. Why on earth were these so called improvements even started when the supposed relief road is not ready is beyond belief.

The question also needs to be asked why this road so called improvement was needed in the first place, a total waste of taxpayers money.

I just wonder how much trade has been lost due to this shambles and what do we have from the council, a comment from Lis Burnett cabinet member for regeneration who states that the lights would be gone by Easter. Now I don't know which Easter she was on about but I think her position and those of her colleagues in this department are now untenable and they should be sacked with immediate effect.

Neil Moore the council leader must take action on this but don't hold your breath as leaders go, he has shown how one sided he is.
