LAST Saturday’s live televised Welsh Cup match from Jenner Park between Barry Town and TNS was an event that many fans never thought that they would see again after all of the difficulties faced in the past decade.

A crowd of 1500 people were there, including many new, young fans attending their first ever game and players and supporters from other local clubs, including Cadoxton Barry, Sully Sports and Barry Albion, amongst many others.

The new 3G surface at Jenner Park meant that the match took place when so many other games were postponed because of the awful weather.

A special thanks has to go to Gavin and Hannah Chesterfield for all of their hard work over many years and to all of the fans, old and new, who who help out in whatever way they can.

Barry is a town that is on the up, so let’s make special events like Saturday into the ordinary and live up to our reputation as ‘Wales’ largest town’ in everything that we do!
