I WRITE to say just how much I have enjoyed the exercise referral course at Barry Leisure Centre over the past 16 weeks.

This is a scheme which has been developed by the Welsh Government in conjunction with local authorities and the NHS across Wales as part of 'Health Challenge Wales'.

The scheme enabled me to take part in a high quality exercise programme to improve my health and wellbeing.

I had not exercised for years, so for me to be referred by my GP was a real big step in my life. But the activities including mini circuits and the gym have made a real difference to my life and has been a life changing experience.

The benefits are huge in helping with weight, blood pressure and helping to reduce stress with a surge in energy which I can thoroughly recommend. So why not get yourself on board and get yourself referred by your GP? It is only £2 per session so a real bargain as well.

All you have to do is turn up for two sessions per week over 16 weeks and follow a set programme. You will also receive excellent advice and assistance during these sessions to help improve your health and wellbeing.

I would personally like to thank my course tutors Andrew and Lance who have been extremely helpful over the past 16 weeks. These guys certainly know what they are doing and help make the local courses here in Barry the success they are.
