I WOULD like to bring to the forefront the effects that fireworks or mostly air bombs have on many people and their pets.

As some of you may remember from a while back, I had a horrific accident that not only left me physically scarred but emotionally damaged (flashbacks).

Whilst I appreciate people wanting to celebrate the likes of Hallowe'en and Bonfire night I feel that it has become out of control.

Fireworks and air bombs are being set off at random times before the actual date and can be very disturbing for people and their pets. Although most people are responsible adults when it comes to fireworks it has become evident that there is a massive amount of misuse of them over the years which has led to fires and accidents.

November 5 should be exactly that, not from October to January.

I always enjoy watching fireworks at a controlled display from a distance but like many other people and animals think it is just irresponsible to let off air bombs at 2am.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) doesn't just affect people from the forces, it is a condition that could of been caused by many things, such as a car accident, witnessing something horrific or an accident like I had.

There is no cure for PTSD it's something that can become debilitating and stay with you for the rest of your life. Many triggers can include loud bangs, things falling or somebody just tapping you on the shoulder.

Please can you all take this in to consideration whilst enjoying your festivities. It can be an enjoyable time for everyone.

I for one dread this time of year, not because I'm grumpy and don't like celebrating but because a loud air bomb goes off late at night takes myself and many other people back to a very dark place.

Have fun but think before you do something that can cause an amazing amount of stress to people and animals.
