May I thank former Tory Cllr Emlyn Williams for giving me a further opportunity to point out just how cheeky Alun Cairns MP is. A few weeks ago I wrote to the papers to point out how Mr Cairns supports local Barry groups and causes only to have his Tory Councillors vote completely opposite to his views at Vale meetings. I pointed out Tory support for housing at Weycock Cross and Tory support for an incinerator in Barry. The latest split in opinions between Mr Cairns and his Tory Councillors is over the carting of toxic incinerator bottom ash from Cardiff to sit in steaming piles on Barry Dock. Whilst Mr Cairns "objected" to this in the newspapers. At the Vale planning meeting former Tory leader Jeff James (Rhoose) said this was a "fantastic" opportunity for Barry Dock and proposed to accept the planning application which was shamefully passed. Barry is a Tory free town and may it continue to be so. I'm afraid Mr E Williams doesn't have much to be proud. Either an MP who is too weak to influence his own people or Tory Councillors hell bent to make Barry dirty, smelly and ugly.
