RE "Cheeky Vote" letter by Cllr Shirley Hodges. This is a very rare occasion when I write to thank Cllr Shirley Hodges for bringing notice to the public that Mr Alun Cairns MP is quite prepared to voice and air his views on matters and issues on decisions made by his own political party.

For example she states that he supported the businesses and residents who complained regarding these charges when it was his own party who were running the Vale of Glamorgan Council, so in fact Shirley, he actually showed his strength in supporting people irrespective of his political view by going against his own party. With regards Weycock Cross, again, according to you the Tory councillors on the planning committee voted for the development but once again Shirley, thanks for bringing the notice to the public that he did not support their decision.

With regards to Dinas Powys, you say he supported the local transport plan for a by-pass when all the Tory councillors voted against it, so in fact Shirley, he supported your party's plan.

Let us be honest about this Shirley, when you say he told you, he has no control over them, it is true, he is not elected by councillors to support them, he was elected by residents throughout the Vale of Glamorgan and it is them that he is accountable to, not councillors.

I will now close by saying to you, I belong to a true party of Wales, true Welsh not as your party is today a Republican party, if I'm wrong, I apologise.
