ON behalf of Friends and Neighbours I would like to take the opportunity of thanking Superstars in The Making for their amazing and dazzling musical production of West Side Story directed and choreographed by Christan Bullen with assistant choreographer Joseph Mees and musical director Christopher Fossey.

The Musical transported the audience to a hot summer in New York City in The 1950's where fiery Puerto Rican immigrants face a daily barrage of racist abuse from everyone including the police.

The rival Montague's and The Capulet's of Shakespeare are now teenage gangs - the Puerto Rican Sharks and The American Jets.

When young sheltered Latina Maria played by Seren Hamilton, her first leading role, falls instantly in love with Tony played by Ethan Whitcombe the young lovers duet Tonight has the audience mesmerised.

The dancing was excellent especially during the balletic fight scenes - the girls get their chance with their spirited dancing - barefoot and colourful, skirts flying to the popular Song America.

From start to finish of the show it was both passionate, colourful, funny and moving and definitely of West End Standard.

Well Done to all the cast.
