OVER the years the council, to save on paying landfill tax, have been asking us to recycle our waste by sorting out paper, metal, plastic and glass bottles which most of us do and in return get charged for recycling boxes and bags.

The withdrew free bags for refuse and dog waste and later in the year food waste bag, now the question of car parking charges once again raises its head.

I wonder if councillors, officers and staff at the Civic and Dock offices will pay for parking at these locations, they probably get more wages than people who work in shops and offices in the town who will have to pay to park.

I know that a number of the staff that work for the council live and travel from places other than the Vale of Glamorgan, so they don't pay any Vale Council Tax, unlike residents who live in the Vale who are expected to pay to park in the town.

What other bright ideas are councillors and their advisors thinking of to raise more money to pay for their allowances and expenses and probably in the future I wouldn't be surprised pensions, they've already raised council tax over the last two years.
