WE would like to express our disappointment and disgust at the councillors who voted for the approval for the planning permission of the biomass incinerator on the docks.
Barry has a proud history as being one of the busiest docks in the country if not the world when coal was king - but it has not been in use as a dock for many, many years.
Not a crane or any coal handling equipment has been left as a nod to the past.
Most towns (even small ones) have a museum. Not Barry.
So what do we get in an area undergoing expensive 'regeneration'? A polluting, ugly incinerator.
I believe most of the councillors who voted for this monstrosity do not live in Barry, so it's not their problems.
Thanks a lot - shame on you.
Alan and Glenys Priest
