WE ARE asking your readers to help us spread the message about the importance of good diabetes care and support in their community during Diabetes Week, which takes place between June 14 and 20.

We are looking for men and women of all ages and walks of life who have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. Perhaps they are living with the condition or they know someone who is?

We hope that by sharing their personal experiences and stories they will inspire others across Wales who are living with diabetes who may be struggling to manage their condition, to get the support they need.

If not managed well, both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes can lead to devastating complications. Diabetes is the leading cause of blindness in people of working age in the UK and is a major cause of lower limb amputation, kidney failure and stroke.

People with diabetes who want to share their stories are invited to contact Diabetes UK Cymru. They can send us a tweet, post on our Facebook wall, send an email to wales@diabetes.org.uk or call 029 2066 8276. Their stories could be a lifeline to others living with diabetes.
