WITH the General Election now confined to history and another five years of Tory torture, is it really any surprise that the Labour party got shot into oblivion.

You only have to see what we have here in the Vale and in Cardiff to see what a shambles our respective councils are. If you take for example, the Vale council, run by a bunch who are out of touch clowns who couldn't give a stuff about the people.

They plead poverty, yet can spend £250,000 on a refurb of the hot air chamber, they can spend another £200,000 on a load of fleet cars claiming it will save them money, they live in a complete dream world yet they hike council tax by 3.9 per cent, they are cutting library services and looking for volunteers to run them, perhaps the Vale leader would like to volunteer but then he would get his hands dirty, and the cuts go on.

But lo and behold Cardiff Council under another bunch of out of touch clowns have just confirmed they are writing off over £4,000,000 in loan repayments from Glamorgan County Cricket Club. This is an absolute disgrace, and a real kick in the teeth, not only to the good people of Cardiff, but the people of Wales.

How on earth are they allowed to get away with this? The noise coming from Cardiff Bay and Carwyn Jones is unbearable.

I have already made a formal complaint about this to the Wales Audit Office but they are just a toothless tiger. Cardiff Council lent over £6 million to the GCC in 2006, and now to write off £4 million is an absolute outrage and heads must roll for this, I really couldn't care less what happens to GCC but the senior officers who signed for this loan and the same senior officers of the Council who approved this loan must suffer severe personal penalties for this.

Politicians appear to think that when they get into power they can spend money willy nilly, they seem to forger that this money belongs to the taxpayer. It would appear that the council has the right to write off debts, this I can understand if they lose a tenant who owes a couple of hundred quid on rent and can't be traced but to write off over £4 million is certainly not on.

Any council who treats the electorate with such shabbiness and disregard must be brought to task. The people of the Vale and the people of Cardiff I am sure will show their fury at the ballot box next year and throw these useless clowns into the gutter where they all belong. Both Councils hang your heads in shame.
