AGE Cymru is Wales’s largest and leading charity for older people in Wales.
We work nationally and locally - through our network of local charity partners, to make Wales a place where older people can flourish.
We’d like to wish your readers an enjoyable Silver Surfers Day on Thursday, April 23 and we’d also like to remind them about the importance of being safe online.
The internet offers a world of possibilities and opportunities for us all – from cheap deals on shopping; keeping in touch with family and friends, to finding out what’s on in our local area.
But going online can also expose us to email scams, ‘phishing’, online fraud and spyware.
This is why it is important that we are all familiar with things such as secure websites, password security, spyware and firewalls, when we venture online.
For more information on safe web surfing, please contact Age Cymru’s advice line on 08000 223 444 and order your free copy of our information guide ‘Internet security – staying safe online’.
Happy (and safe) surfing!
Claire Bottomley,
Healthy Ageing manager
