IT WAS quite depressing to learn that the cash Tony Blair donated to a hundred Labour constituencies has been accepted in the Vale.

Quickly we can see the result with leaflets being delivered not by supporters but by commercial organisations and newspaper adverts.

Presumably the decline in people actually prepared to work on a voluntary basis for the party makes this necessary. It’s interesting to learn that there are still Blair admirers in the Labour Party.

I’m proud that the Plaid campaign will be funded entirely from small donations from the people of the Vale.

Meanwhile the Labour campaign will be funded by the blood money of a disgraced former prime minister. He has made his millions in doing the bidding of global banks, multinational energy companies and dodgy dictators the world over.

Labour, under tragically weak leadership, has failed to exploit the Government’s failures. They voted to support Tory spending plans for 2015. Then Labour MPs crept through the voting lobbies to support the Tory austerity charter for the next parliament.

Plaid will not support an austerity budget irrespective of whether it is the Blue Tories or the Red Tories that introduce it.
