READING a letter from a Barry resident, who found that she had been booked by a council enforcement officer for parking outside of Iceland in Holton Road on a Sunday, brings shame on this Vale Council.

Why on earth are there double yellow lines on this stretch of road when the road is closed all week due to it being pedestrianised apart from Sundays, if they don't want people to park their cars on a Sunday then leave the gates closed.

Another thing now, which this penny pinching council are considering is to bring in parking charges for certain areas of Barry, this is another shabby policy.

If the councillors could for one minute manage to prise themselves out of their £700 comfy chairs and find the exit doors from their plush council chamber and managed to walk from the bottom of Holton Road up to the top of Holton Road by the Bassett, they could see for themselves how many shops are shut.

Barry is dying on its feet and now the clowns on the council want to kill it off altogether. We have nothing in this town, what we did have has been systematically destroyed by various councils.

If the councils want to bring in parking charges then start by bringing in charges at your Vale headquarters for you councillors but then again you would probably sink that low you would claim the money back on expenses.

This council is driven by hurting us, the Vale taxpayer, at every opportunity but where is the cost savings coming from you councillors?

The council leader on more than £47,000 a year, the deputy leader on £33,000 and the CEO on £100,000plus should start trimming their own salaries.

We have a wonderful pillar of the community in Rob Curtis the councillor who goes around cleaning up beaches making himself look environmentally friendly, yet at the same token he has joined his fellow Labour clowns in introducing a charge for the green waste food bags, what a hypocrite.

This Labour council has now gone way past its sell by date, so come on people put yourself forward to fight at the next election, we need fresh blood to run the Vale.

We have had enough of this circus in the Vale and its time the people started to fight back.
