LAST year 3,250 people in the Vale needed the use of a foodbank and 900 families were forced to pay the bedroom tax as a result of unfair and cruel government policies that penalise those in society with the least.

Unfortunately, when people are looking for a positive change, they see very little difference between the political parties in London.

In recent weeks, they have all voted for deep cuts for the next five years and the continuation of expensive and deadly nuclear weapons that can never be used.

I got involved in politics because I wanted to see positive change in our society, all the way from government to our communities, giving the best start in life for our children and ensuring that nobody is left behind.

That is why I’m putting myself forward as the Plaid Cymru candidate in this year’s general election.

As the third biggest party on the Vale Council, and the second biggest in Barry – the Vale’s largest town – we [Plaid] have shown our commitment to a fairer and better society.

Since being elected to the Council in 2012, I have led debates against cuts to our library services in the Vale and against the over-development of housing in the Vale, argued for funding to improve Barry, and called for a moratorium on fracking.

As the MP for the Vale I would argue and vote against senseless and dreadful cuts that are already being felt in every community here and across Wales.

If you are one of the many people who wants to see a positive change, give your support to a party that believes in the policies it puts forward and vote for Plaid Cymru at this election.
