AS the UKIP parliamentary candidate for Vale of Glamorgan constituency in the forthcoming General election may I be allowed to correct the highly inaccurate and misleading comments contained within Karen Tyre’s letter to the paper published on 8/1/2015.

Her letter claims that Nigel Farage is an ex banker. He of course left school and became a metals trader on the London commodities market which is of course is a totally different sphere of work to international banking as claimed by Karen.

He of course was busy gaining experience in an actual real world work environment whilst Ed Milliband and David Cameron completed their Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) degree’s in university before entering politics with no real world work experience, a route favoured by so many of our modern day politicians who feel competent to decide national policy on matters of which they have absolutely no experience.

Karen claims that UKIP is funded by millionaires. Well Karen welcome to real world, just like the Labour party, alongside the scores of thousands of ordinary working class people such as myself who contribute small sums to their favoured political party UKIP has a number of donors with more wealth than other contributors to the party.

The Labour party of course spent years in opposition courting the banking and the financial sector in the city of London for financial support before returning those favours when elected by relaxing and removing so many financial restraints to their friends in the banking industry that their policies helped hasten the collapse of virtually all major banks in this country, requiring bailing out by us ordinary taxpayers.

In fact I have previously pointed out in these pages to labour Councillor Rob Curtis that it was indeed Gordon Brown who was publicised extensively in the press opening the new headquarters of the Lehman Brother bank whilst praising in his words “their innovative and exciting financial strategies” shortly before they crashed, becoming the biggest casualty of the crisis.

I think that it is worth reiterating to Karen and other Vale of Glamorgan residents that the massive current and forthcoming cuts to expenditure and services here in the Vale can be firmly attributed to the complete and utter mess this country’s finances were left in by Gordon Brown and the Labour party.

Which is just one of the reasons that vast numbers of former Labour and Conservative voters are increasingly voting UKIP.
