YET another nail in the coffin of the European Union. This year the bill for EU pensions has increased by more than seven per cent to a total of £1.3 billion. Total pension liabilities are estimated at £35.8 billion, with GB required to pay a £4 billion share of this.
The average pension for EU officials, who retire on average at 61, is £40,000 with many receiving more than this; MEPs make no contribution to their pensions and receive £13,760 for each five years they serve.
Needless to say our “Nige” i.e. Farage has taken notice and has said “The EU is a racket which looks after its own. The quicker we leave the cheaper it will be.” No doubt, but will “our Nige” refuse his EU pension, or give it to a charity?
