I READ with interest the short article entitled ‘Anti domestic abuse campaign launched’ (Barry & District News p26 January 1).
A pledge was signed by council officers and cabinet members which promised “never to commit, condone, or remain silent about men’s violence against women...” quite so, I agree, but this is essentially biased and sexist.
We should – Vale Council and “Atal y Fro” – all be against all violence, not just against women. Surely the council and “Atal” should be against violence against anyone, not just women.
Come on council; let’s have the campaign encompass both sexes, not exercise sex discrimination in such a blatant way.
