I write in response to an article that was published by a group of residents being frustrated at being unable to obtain permission for a small children's playground near where they live in West Barry.
The proposal seemed well thought out with much support from residents to provide this positive facility which would have enhanced the amenity for families in the area. Unfortunately, some people do not share this view and have focused their objections on the basis that such a situation might develop whereupon the proposed small playground may attract a small measure of anti-social behaviour. It is unfortunate that this weak probability is given much weight against the proposal.
However, there is a strong sense of community within the principality. Therefore I hope that the aspirations of the residents are met as I am aware that they will justifiably continue their campaign to create this park for their children's use.
