ONCE again and with the invaluable collaboration of the Town and Vale Councils the Rotary Club of Barry is delighted to bring you an exceptional evening of fun and fireworks, as we stage our 41st Fireworks Fiesta on Wednesday, November 5.

We will be holding it whatever the weather brings, except, perhaps, gales, so please ignore any rumours to the contrary. Pendragon Fireworks, based here in Wales, promise that this year’s display will be better, even than the last.

Come along and enjoy yourselves in what promises to be a wonderful evening of fun, fireworks and music. The fireworks will start at 7.45pm prompt, but to avoid the last minute rush, we suggest arriving from 6pm.

You will be able to enjoy the delights supplied by the Island traders and the funfair before and after the main event. Parking is available in the main car parks for only £2 a vehicle. Limited disabled parking on Friars Road is also available. We implore everyone attending to donate at least £1 into the collecting buckets, so as to assist the future funding of this event. If everyone gave at least £1, we could ensure the continuation of the event, and help deserving causes so much more.

Over the years this has been a very popular event and traffic delays are to be expected, so where possible please car share and consider these alternative forms of transport:-

Barry Docks Station/Barry Station; Park at either site and take the regular Arriva train service to Barry Island. For times, visit www.arrivatrain-swales.co.uk or ring 08457 48 49 50.

Hood Road Train Service; The Barry Tourist Railway will be operating a park & ride train service from Hood Road Station, The Waterfront to Barry Island Station from 6pm to 9pm.

The Rotary Club of Barry apologises to the residents for the inconvenience caused during the road closure period (5.30pm to 10pm)
