READING the comments from Jane Hutt AM for the Vale of Glamorgan, and Carwyn Jones, spouting on about more powers for the Assembly, which could include tax raising powers, the people must be given a vote on this. My own opinion on this is that Ms Hutt and co must never be given these extra powers.

You only have to see what Carwyn Jones has done to the powers he already has - forcing through the purchase of an airport without any obvious consideration to the taxpayers of Wales, the health service is being cut to the bone, people are dying in ambulances waiting to be seen at hospitals, the education system is in tatters.

It seems to me that the National Assembly is nothing more than a legal dictatorship, and next on the plan if councils cannot agree to merge with each other, they are going to be forced to merge by the dictate coming from the Assembly.

How is that for democracy, they say we have too many councils, if that is the case we have way too many government departments.

I think the way forward is to abolish the Assembly for all the good it has done us, it is just a money making quango for the few.
