ALTHOUGH we have been through all this a few times now Taylor Wimpey seem unable to process the fact that Barry residents are not at all keen on them building on Green farm.

It appears they believe resubmitting a planning application with a different reference number will fool the good folks of Barry. Well I for one am not impressed.

This is a blatant attempt to slip in the back door. All objections previously made are now null and void which is ridiculous considering the strength of feeling expressed during the last attempt to build on this land.

All the arguments against this development remain unchanged. The roads , doctors, dentists, schools, employment and emergency services etc etc. It is still valuable agricultural land, it is still green wedge, it is still outside the parish boundary. The bats still forage there (protected by European law). I could go on.

The need for housing is always going to be an issue but we must consider the type of need. Affordable housing is what the Vale of Glamorgan needs not an estate on the outer edge of a town that's already struggling to cope and where residents will be reliant on cars.

Please make your views on this heard (again) to the Vale of Glamorgan planning department quoting planning reference number 2014/00863/out/ell.
