Seashore party

First published in Letters

ON Friday, July 18, the Thyroid Cancer Support Group Wales held their annual fundraising summer party night at the function room, Seashore Cafe Bar and Grill, Swanbridge.

It was an extremely successful evening – a complete sell out.

Over 80 guests enjoyed a superb buffet (catered by the staff at the Seashore) and outstanding entertainment provided by Bob Sax.

The event was generously sponsored by McDonald's Barry and Fordthorne Motor Park, Cardiff. As a group we thank them most sincerely for their support in our fundraising efforts. We are all volunteers and every endeavour is made to raise funds for the challenges that we have set ourselves as a group.

We completely fund the NATT project at Velindre Cancer Centre Cardiff and also we work hard to improve the quality of life for thyroid cancer patients, whilst also offering support to their families at a most difficult time.

TCSGW is a self help support group who meet at Velindre Hospital with the aim of supporting patients with this rare form of cancer. The group celebrates their tenth anniversary this year and the difference made too many people’s lives over that period of time has been immeasurable.

Thanks to everyone who attended the event and to the Seashore Grill for their generous support of the evening.

Also thanks to Morrisons Barry Waterfront, Tesco Barry, She Wears It Well High Street, Little Blue Deli High Street and New U Nails and Beauty Holton Road for kindly supporting this event with prizes for the raffle.
