WHILST on a shopping trip with my daughter to Morrisons I noticed a small dog locked in a car with the windows shut.

The temperature outside the car was very hot, so inside must have been unbearable and the dog was clearly distressed.

I went back into Morrisons to find the owner, and after twenty minutes she came out and drove into the petrol station. I followed her there and told her of her little dog’s distress. She said she didn’t realise and was very apologetic.

The moral of this story is please can dog owners either leave a car window open or leave their dogs at home, especially in this weather.
