AS reported in the article ‘Residents angry at lack of consultation’ (Barry & District News, April 3), I should like to point out that we are the largest council housing estate in the Vale of Glamorgan, with one of the highest percentages of senior citizens.
On the initial meeting between the residents’ board and Vale of Glamorgan Council officer, it was explained that the majority of senior citizens could not access the Holm View Leisure Centre. This is why Gibbonsdown Residents Board members asked for a meeting to be convened in their office, for feedback of the strategy compiled by HYDER, so that we could explain to our residents. We still feel that consultation between the Vale and residents was at a minimum.
However we are still willing to meet with the Vale Council to discuss this issue.
