MY proposal for the Watchtower is small cosy tea room where the public could enjoy the beautiful sea view whilst enjoying a cuppa, the proceeds of which going to the Barry Lifeboat.
Most of our coastal towns have a Lifeboat shop and Barry being one of the largest towns in Wales doesn’t possess one, I would be more than willing to help set up this venture as this charity is one which is close to my heart. Tom Clemett local historian, I am sure must have many photographs relating to the area which could be displayed in the tearoom.
Local artist Glyn Pooley could maybe use another part of the premises for an art gallery to display heritage memorabilia relating to the Watchtower and area, it could be a hub for knowledge and learning for young people.
I hope you may be interested in my proposal and hope to hear from you in the near future.
