JUST after Christmas the town of Barry lost one of its respected, loved and well-known characters on the death of Peggy Taylor.
Her charitable work in Barry Island and more recently throughout the town involved supporting numerous worthy causes that are far too many to mention. Her kindness and readiness at all times to encourage and support anyone in need of help was legendary. It was only when she was frustrated by failing eyesight that she had to retire from her efforts and accept help herself.
Peggy became a well-loved matriarch to her family who gave her great support especially when she encountered health problems and her pride and happiness in her family was evident to all who knew her. One who had a firm Christian faith she has now surely gone to her reward and will be welcomed with the words “Well done thou good and faithful servant”.
