ON Thursday, November 28, at around 9.30pm, a well known funeral company turned up outside St Helen's Church, Wyndham Street, and placed funeral cones from the junction of Court road for about 50 metres into Wyndham Street, yet the funeral was not until 11am the following day, a total of about 13 hours or more.
This in effect stopped about eight cars parking overnight, and into the early morning.
I know these cones can be moved if you need to park your car, yet out of respect most drivers will not move these cones.
I believe the council or the police should contact funeral companies and ask them to respect the residents of Wyndham street, and not to put the cones out more than two hours before the funeral.
Parking anywhere near the town centre is at a premium, so we could do without funeral companies preying on the goodwill of drivers not to move their cones for such a long time.
