AT Christmas, in addition to providing our usual food parcels, the Vale Foodbank works in partnership with the Big Wrap (http://www.bigwrap.co.uk/e-mail: bigwrap@yahoo.co.uk) to provide Christmas hampers to disadvantaged families and young people in the Vale.
We include 'treats' that people may not otherwise be able to afford and are appealing to readers to donate an item from the following list for inclusion in food parcels: tinned ham, Christmas pudding, Christmas cake, box of biscuits, children's selection box, box of chocolates, large bar chocolate (150/200g) snacks and nibbles (eg peanuts) and Christmas crackers.
Donations can be brought to the foodbank during opening hours or taken to the collection point in the Civic Offices, Holton Road, Barry.
With your support, we can make sure that no-one in the Vale goes hungry this year.
