Failed to respond to points raised

CRIKEY, I think I’m being told-off in Councillor Wilkinson’s letter, ‘Ill-informed remarks’ (Barry & District News, October 10) perhaps I should spend some time on the naughty stool.
The letter contained plenty of personal put-downs but hardly responded to the substantive points I raised. I made it quite clear that my comments followed a chat with some residents who had attended the council’s meeting and those individuals felt the council had already made up their mind. The thrust of my letter was about the council’s written agenda being rather ‘one-sided’ and not what council officials said in a meeting I did not attend.
I believe that we should all be taking an interest in the well being of the elderly, especially those who live locally at the bottom of their street. That should include raising concerns even if they do not meet with the local councillor’s approval.
