Not such a bum deal

I WAS disgusted to read how much the council have spend on re-doing the council chambers £52,000 plus... disgraceful.
That money could have gone on something for the people of Barry to have or enjoy. It's not surprising our council tax has gone up as much as it has to pay for their backsides to be sat in comfortable new chairs they have now got, and what are they going to do with the old ones?
Probably throw them away It's so selfish of them and there's the council always telling us at our meetings there's no money left. We've been asking for a salt bin in our area for the last couple of years as it's dangerous in the winter when ice and snow is on the ground and there have been accidents with both people falling, including myself, and near misses with cars sliding on the road. We were told if we want one we would have to buy it ourselves at a cost of around £300 but the council will not fill it with either sand or salt as they don't think our area is dangerous enough or warrants putting a salt bin there - well let them live round here in the winter and then say it's not dangerous enough!
We're getting more and more taken from us and what do we get for the amount we pay in council tax, not a lot, despite the council trying to justify it by putting it up. I've been in the chambers a few times and there was nothing wrong with the old chairs and certainly not enough to warrant spending between £500 to £700 plus on each chair it's disgraceful. They should 'cut back' like the rest of us have too, but then we're not over paid or have expenses like them! Nice to know they're taking our money to make themselves comfortable at work - not!
