Not what we expect from Welsh choir

I WRITE regarding the recent visit of the London Male Voice Choir.
This was not the kind of singing we expect from a Welsh choir.
The whole performance failed to cause elation in the listeners hearts. So many voices, where was the music? Where the joy?
We Welsh love our singing with a real passion, but sadly, nowhere in the programme was there a place for audience participation.
Suddenly, in the second half, an opportunity!
We all know the wonderful hymn tune Rachie, which the choir was singing, and we couldn’t resist joining in, and clamoured for a repeat.
What a unique unforgetable ten minutes that would have been – almost 1000 voices bringing some much needed “hwyl” to the occasion.
But a non-plussed Mr Harrhy gave a shrug and carried on with the next item. Unbelievable!
As for the choir - come on lads you’ve rested on your laurels long enough - you are the London Welsh, so live up to your name!
Big thanks to the solo soprano and the accompanists – obviously enjoying what they were doing.
