MP's pathetic insults

REGARDING the stupid remarks Alan Cairns MP made about people using foodbanks saying they are either people on drugs, people who cannot manage money or are alcoholics (Barry & District News, September 12).
I am sure these junkies, alcoholics and those who cannot handle money would love to be in a position where they can earn a nice lavish salary of £67,000 a year plus have an expense account of some £46,000 for one year.
The point of this letter is that now Alan Cairns is trying to justify his comments by blaming his political opponents for twisting his words. How many times have we seen Tory MPs and Labour MPs try this same shameful scam to try and excuse their disgraceful remarks. Alan Cairns did not come across as a caring individual, in fact it was the exact opposite. I must assume that Alan Cairns has a degree of common sense so can I advise him that next time he has vicious remarks to make about people who are struggling he engages his brain before the pen.
