Regeneration funding failure

THE failure of the Vale Council to attract further regeneration funding from the Welsh Government must be a cause of concern for the people of Barry.
Comments from key individuals vary considerably. They include; it lacked the wow factor; it was a disappointing and misguided decision; a slap in the face; it paves the way for actively seeking private investment; it was a body blow - to no statement at all from the Welsh Government.
We need to know what went wrong and why so that lessons can be learned for future funding applications, but it is only the Welsh Government that know the truth.
Barry urgently needs regeneration and investment and we citizens and tax payers must be told the real reasons for the failure to attract funding to the town.
