LAST year, I wrote a letter to the Barry & District News praising the work of Christian Bullen and his Superstars in 'Fame The Musical'.
The letter was spotted by Josef Weinberger Ltd, who owns the copyright and it was featured on their website.
'Fame' was a magnificent show and deserved the praise that was heaped upon it. In fact, it was so good, that I and others waited in eager anticipation for this year's production.
We weren't disappointed! Christian has once again shown his directing and choreographic skills by putting on 'Grease, The Musical' which was shown in the Barry Memorial Hall Theatre on August 22 and 23.
Once again, people travelled from all over the UK to see the show. My grandson and I travelled up from Plymouth, some travelled from Cwmbran and Cardiff and I know that people came from further afield to enjoy the show.
It was such a superb production that I once again feel compelled to write and say how much I enjoyed the show!
I attended on Friday, August 23, and it was a sell-out! The cast gave energetic, exciting performances and the well-known songs were beautifully sung.
Christian is such an asset and inspiration to Barry. I'm a Barry girl, born and bred and very fond of my hometown. It has received a great deal of recognition from the Gavin and Stacey series but Christian and his Superstars also seem to be doing their bit for putting Barry well and truly on the map and making 'Superstars In The Making' THE Performing Arts Academy to be part of.
Huge congratulations to the extremely talented, Ethan Whitcombe, Elliott T Lewis, Joseph Mees, Luke Edwards, Alun Rees, Mabli Tudor, Gaby French, Louise Hall, Kirstie Fox, Jodi Bird, Molly Parker, Rhain Neil, Nia Rees, Briana Paine, Judy Coleman, Jonathan Millard, Joanna Botting and Zachary Carey who formed the main cast and the magnificent 39 who played the Rydell High Students. Also, the costumes by Angela Emes and Jenny Bullock were stunning!
'Grease The Musical' was a truly fantastic show and I'm sure that some of the above will household names of the future.
Thank you all for giving us yet another show to keep in our memories and our hearts forever.
