Walk for charity
9:33am Thursday 28th February 2013 in Letters
DO you fancy a bracing walk to build up an appetite for lunch while raising awareness and funds for Kidney Wales at the same time?
Then come along to Morrison’s Car Park on Sunday, March 17. Registration starts at 11am to collect your donations and issue t-shirts. We will then walk from Morrison’s car park, heading down Broad Street, along the Parade to the Lake and back along Park Avenue to return to Morrison’s.
For sponsor forms and further information call Debbie Baker on 07876597021 or email debron63@ hotmail.com.
The Walk for Life is used to promote awareness of kidney disease and organ donation as Kidney Wales started the donor card scheme and played a large part in the instigation of the organ donor register. Once again this year’s Kidney Wales Barry Walk for Life is being organised in memory of my son Lloyd Baker and Richard and John Taylor. Lloyd died whilst waiting for a kidney transplant and was a father of two lovely young boys.
The Taylor family have regularly organised the Kidney Wales Barry Walk for Life and are still active in raising funds for this worthwhile cause. It has been a tribute to John Taylor, who died on the morning of the 2006 walk and to his son Richard Taylor, who donated his organs after his tragic death in 2004.
Come along and support Kidney Wales or sponsor one of the ‘walkers’.
