I AM writing to thank all those people who came out to vote for me in the community council by-election in Twyn ward, Dinas Powys, last Thursday, January 24.
Although the weather was extremely inclement and ice and snow still covered many of the pavements, more than 300 hardy voters made it to the polling station. There were an additional 119 postal voters. The vacant seat on the community council was hotly contested but, after the count, I was declared the winner by a margin of 41 votes. I regard it as a great honour to be entrusted to represent the people of Twyn for the next four years and I will do my very best to be a worthy community councillor, not only for those who voted for me but for all the residents of the ward and Dinas Powys as a whole. Once again, my sincerest thanks.
