Twin link is thriving
9:57am Thursday 24th January 2013 in Letters
THE spirit of international friendship is still thriving in the Vale.
The Vale of Glamorgan Twinning Association, with members throughout the area including Penarth, has an active programme of events with our twin towns of Fecamp in Normandy, Rheinfelden in Germany, and Mouscron in Belgium.
All these were represented in our own marquee at Cowbridge food festival last October. Association members enjoyed visits to the summer festivals in Fecamp and Rheinfelden.
The association assisted visits by scouts from Fecamp in June, and scouts from Barry visiting Belgium.
The Vale of Glamorgan Brass Band also led the festival parade through Fecamp in June.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the first Twinning Agreement involving our twin towns. The Vale of Glamorgan and the Twinning Association is invited to join in these celebrations, and we are welcome to display a cultural or artistic contribution to events in both Fecamp and Rheinfelden.
Any person interested in these events and activities should contact the association secretary Mark Petherick at the Cabinet Office, Vale of Glamorgan Council, Holton Road, Barry.
