Let’s clean up this filth!

WHAT A STATE: Rubbish piled up on our streets. WHAT A STATE: Rubbish piled up on our streets.

I REGULARLY read letters in the Barry & District News from people in Barry complaining about the state of our streets. I too am appalled by the sights I see as I drive though Barry, and Cadoxton in particular. To highlight the issue, as I write this there are black bags all around Vere Street and the surrounding area. On two of the corners of Vere Street there are at least ten bags on both corners, and these have been there for a week already with black bag collection being another five days away. The bags are ripped open (by what I wouldn’t like to guess), and the contents are spilled onto the pavements, making residents walk on the roads to pass. Obviously the owners don’t care and I question the commitment of the council and their recycling policy. I have emailed the council on this matter but as yet the bin bags remain. Isn’t it time the council did something about this? The owners of the bags should be found and fined.
