ART4 U would like to thank all those who braved the elements to share in the celebration of Samhain. We experienced rain, thunder, hail and sunshine, all adding to the dramatic impact of the beach sculptures. A special thank you to all the volunteers who helped to construct the 90-foot sculpture and a thank you to Myke Morgan and Christie Leate Bowen, who constructed a magnificent fire sculpture that lit up the night sky.
The light shone out in the darkness during this celebration, symbolically helping to keep all those who experienced this artwork in touch with the cycle of the year. As we moved from summer to winter, with the warmness from the fire and the brightness of the lights giving us renewed vigour, we could focus on the guidance from our ancestors to lead us safely as we brave the coming winter months.
This was a truly spectacular and moving artwork that combined a celebration that no doubt will stay with all those who experienced this event for many years to come.
