Annual Dinxsy's Day fundraiser event in Barry is a big success!

MATCH-WINNING DAY: Family and friends of David 'Dinxsy' Coombs remember him in true football style.
A MEMORIAL football tournament celebrating the life of a 19-year-old player and fan from Barry, has raised more than £600 for three charities.
Twenty-two teams - including two all-female sides from Sully - congregated at the Buttrills playing fields for the annual Dinxsy's Day tournament, which sees the victor take home the David's Boot trophy.
David's family, who host the event annually, said the proceeds would this year be donated to Great Ormond Street, Cerebra, and Pets Trust.
In the final AFC Colcot defeated the Tumtastics after eight years of taking part - despite one of David's best friends Craig being unable to play due to a broken leg.
However Craig finally got his hands on the trophy, after coaching the side and accepting the Boot on their behalf.
David's mum, Kim Coombs said: "The girls played really well and gave the boys a good run for their money.
"They scored a few goals and scored more points than some of the boys' teams. "Next year we hope to have more girls at the event - to show the boys how to play!"
David's grandparents manned the barbecue, referees Mark Harvey, Gordon Young, Chris Harding, Anthony Partridge (Tich) and David's dad Paul kept order, and sister Jodie and friends from Japan helped set up and organise the event.
"We very much appreciate all the help we get from family and friends to keep this tournament going," added Kim.
"Our thanks also to the council for allowing us to use the pitches."
David's cousin Richard Grant put up a £50 prize for the Crossbar Challenge, which was won by Bo Cordle who played for the Sully Ladies - although he was no lady! "He did very well, almost hitting the bar on his first attempt and succeeding on his second," said Kim.
"The challenge was very well supported and helped raise our total for the charities.
"It was a great day."
