AN annual party celebrating the life of a young Barry mum who died suddenly will this year help raise funds for the charity Wish Upon A Star.
The event is in memory of mum-of-one Ashaa Davis, who died due to a brain haemorrhage on April 1, 2010.
Ashaa's Night will take place at The Dolphin, also known as Cafe Continental at Barry Island, on February 25 – which would have been her 25th birthday weekend.
Mum Carole MacKintosh said: "We held a similar event last year at The Ship Hotel, and due to it being such a success, we are making it a bigger event this year."
Entertaining the guests will be live band Dansette, street dance group Interlock, the Billboard Dancers, solo singers Jodana and Maria, and special guest singing and dancing Miss Ruby-Rae and friends - Ruby being Ashaa's daughter.
A disco, karaoke, raffles, meat rolls, and an Ashaa favourite - cupcakes - also feature on the event menu, along with a balloon release at midnight.
Ashaa's Night at The Dolphin, Barry Island, runs from 7pm until late on Saturday, February 25.
Tickets, costing £5, are available in advance from Carole on 07970 014995.
